What is a part-time MBA?

What is a part-time MBA? How do you know if this is the right type of MBA for you? The answer lies on whether you  have a day job that you cannot afford to leave. If your answer is yes, then a part-time MBA is the one for you.

When you hear someone ask “What is a part-time MBA?” you will always hear the following answer: it is an MBA program that was designed to fit the schedule of a working professional. The classes are usually given at night since most people work during the day. It is a graduate program that helps those who need to stay with their current jobs but also want to earn a graduate degree.

Obviously, if you are a working professional, you will greatly benefit from a part-time MBA. Since the classes will be held after 5, you will not have to leave your office during the day to go to the school. Of course, the classes will not be held all night as regular classes are regularly held all day. Taking only a few hours at night several nights a week, part-time MBA students still get time to spend time with their loved ones.

Part-time MBA programs usually take 2 to 3 years to complete. Some, however, take up to 5 years. This usually depends on the number of courses offered by the school. Some schools will require you to take up more courses than others. Of course, the length of time you need to study for your MBA will also depend on the time you dedicate for it. But since this will not disrupt your day job or your family life, making time for your MBA will not be a problem.
