Online MBA Review
Looking for an Online MBA Review? Know what to look for!
Have you noticed what happens when you search for an online MBA review site? You get a ton of ads. It’s also a little questionable whether some of these review sites are “reviewing” anything at all. Before you take anything on a review site seriously, think about what a good review should include.
For example, if you’re looking for information about online MBA programs, you want any review of those programs to cover some basic facts before it even begins to give you editorial opinions. Starting right in with a bunch of vague talk about how great and respected the program is, that’s a dead giveaway that there might be a better online MBA review out there.
What should those basic facts be?
- Accreditation
Any decent review site that gives you overviews of online MBA programs should be providing at least the basic information regarding the college/university’s accreditation and the accreditation specific to the program. If a school is missing an accreditation, there should be some mention as to why. And don’t put up with any nonsense–if the board is advertising a bunch of programs that are accredited by shady institutions, don’t bother reading it.
- Alumni accomplishments
An in depth online MBA review will mention the program’s graduates. Even small online MBA programs, like small colleges with campuses, have a few shining stars. If there’s no mention of graduates who have made it in some way that can be verified, be skeptical.
- Faculty and faculty qualifications
Who’s running the program? An online MBA review that doesn’t tell you who the dean of the business school at the university is either isn’t doing its homework or just isn’t very in depth. It might be able to point you in the right direction, but you need to dig deeper.
